About Carol's Books

The Shared Moments books chronicle one family's honest, touching and inspiring journey through grief. The Poduch family integrated the loss of nine-year-old Lauren over the course of many years, all the while finding the spirit of hope. Eventually they arrived at a place of resolution and personal growth. They were able to create a life of joy once again.

In the reading and consideration of Carol's stories, healing connections can be formed for those facing difficult passages in their own lives.
The stories invite dialogue and contemplation. While no two grief journeys are the same, the path to healing is best undertaken in connection to those who have walked the path of loss and emerged abundant in life's many gifts.

Dear Reader,

Almost everyone nods in agreement when the words are uttered:
“There is no greater loss than the loss of a child.” This is true, the loss is traumatic and life changing. But how many people would see this as an opportunity for growth?

That is what my life work has become, an opportunity for personal growth, in the years since the sudden death of my nine-year-old daughter, Lauren, in 1999. My work and this website are offered to share affirming life stories that exemplify the resilience of the human spirit as well as to assist in the search for the meaning behind why bad things can happen to good people.

As you read my books and share my family's story, please know that my thoughts and blessings are with you.
